Veteran's Day, Local Honors for my Grandfather
“Tuesday, November 11, 2008 the Newaygo VFW Post on M-37 will hold a special ceremony for the veterans of our county. Included in this will be a special presentation where Leonard Saunders will be honored for his service to the US Army during WWII.
Leonard is also this month’s vet of the month for the Fremont Times Indicator. He is on page 2 of the Indicator for the week of Nov. 5.
All family and friends of Leonard’s are invited to the 11 am ceremony as well as the luncheon afterwards which is put on by the VFW Post Womens Aux.
Unknown to him, all of his family- including 3 daughters and 3 sisters are planning on attending.” - as quoted by my aunt
